실손의료보험 청구 절차를 간소화하는 내용을 담은 '보험업법 개정안'이 16일 국회 정무위원회 법안심사소위원회에서 의결됐다. 지난 2009년 처음으로 소위에 올라온 뒤 14년 만이다. 앞으로 △정무위 전체회의 △법제사법위원회 △국회 본회의 절차가 남았다.

실손보험 청구 간소화는 병·의원에서 직접 중계기관에 전산화된 관련 파일을 전달하는 방식을 말한다. 이 법이 시행될 경우  보험계약자나 피보험자는 종이 서류를 챙겨 사진을 찍어 앱을 통해 전송하거나, 팩스를 이용해 보험사에 보내야 하는 불편을 덜 수 있다.

다만 의료 데이터 전송대행기관(중계기관) 역할은 어디서 맡을 지는 끝내 합의점을 찾지 못해 지금까지 국회 소위에서 공회전됐다.
