시청자들에게 안타까움과 응원을 동시에 받았던 '선풍기 아줌마' 한혜경씨가 지난 15일 세상을 떠난 것으로 알려졌다. 향년 57세.

 

 

한씨의 가족들은 서울 도봉구 한일병원에서 장례를 치른 뒤 17일 오전 발인을 마쳤다. 사망 원인은 전해지지 않았다.

 

한씨의 사연은 2004년 SBS '순간포착 세상에 이런 일이'를 통해 전국적으로 알려졌다. 순간 최고시청률 31%를 기록한 '잃어버린 얼굴' 편에 출연한 한씨는 성형중독으로 인해 일반인보다 몇배나 부풀어 오른 얼굴로 힘들게 생활하는 모습으로 전파를 탔다.

 

 

한때 무명가수로 활동할 정도로 아름다운 외모와 재능을 갖췄던 그는 일본 진출 후 불법 성형 시술에 빠져들었고 이후 조현병을 얻었다. 스스로 얼굴에 콩기름, 파라핀 등을 주입하는 충격적인 모습에 시청자들은 놀라움을 금치 못했고, 제작진은 한씨와 함께 본래 얼굴을 찾기 위해 치료를 시작하는 모습을 전했다.

 

수차례 얼굴 복원 수술을 받은 한씨는 시청자들의 응원과 함께 정상적인 생활을 이어오다 2008년 방송에 다시 등장해 열심히 직장생활하는 모습을 보여줬다. 이후 각종 방송에도 가끔씩 얼굴을 비추며 시청자들에게 삶의 의지를 피력해왔다.

 

한편 한씨의 사망 소식이 전해지자 그를 기억하는 많은 시민들의 애도가 이어지고 있다.
