중국과 대만이 올해 양안(兩岸: 중국과 대만)을 대표하는 한자어로 '바랄 망(望)'자를 선정했다.
중국 런민르바오는 17일 대안 왕보와 중국 샤먼 하이시천바오, 포털 신랑왕이 공동으로 설문조사를 한 결과 올해 한자가 '바랄 망(望)'자로 선정했다고 보도했다.

이번 조사에는 약 1000만명의 네티즌이 참여했는데 인(人), 망(望), 융(融), 변(變), 합(合), 화(化), 극(克), 파(破), 취(聚), 청(靑) 등 10개 후보 가운데 '망'자에 가장 많은 51만표를 던졌다.
황칭룽 왕보 사장은 "올해 개혁개방 40주년을 맞았고, 대만은 중간선거 격인 지방선거를 진행했다"면서 "망(望)자를 선정한 것은 평화, 번영과 행복한 삶 등 미래에 대한 공동의 기대를 반영해 준다"고 평가했다.
이달 초 공개된 다른 조사에서 대만의 올해 한자는 '번(翻)'자가 선정됐다. 번(翻)은 뒤집다, 전복하다는 의미의 동사다.
대만 연합신문망은 대만 국민 5만7548명이 참여한 가운데 번(翻) 1만929표를 얻어 올해의 한자로 선정됐다고 지난 11일 보도했다. 이에 대해 대만 중간선거에서 집권당 민진당이 참패한 결과를 반영했다는 분석이 제기된다.
