지난달 23일 청주에서 가족과 함께 등산을 하러 갔다가 실종된 조은누리(14) 양으로 추정되는 여자아이가 실종 신고 10일 만에 발견됐다.

경찰·소방과 함께 수색에 나선 육군 부대는 2일 오후 2시 40분께 조 양이 첫 실종지로 추정되는 청주시 가덕면 무심천 발원지 주변에서 조 양으로 보이는 여자아이를 발견했다고 밝혔다.
군부대 측은 "이 소녀는 의식과 호흡이 있는 것으로 알려졌다"고 전했다.
앞서 지난달 23일 오전 10시 30분께 가덕면 내암리 258 무심천 발원지에서 조 양이 가족과 산책을 하던 중 실종됐다는 신고가 접수됐다.
당시 조 양의 어머니는 경찰에 "함께 산길을 오르던 중 벌레가 많아지자 딸이 '먼저 내려가 있겠다'고 한 뒤 사라졌다"고 말했다.
이후 조 양의 행방이 묘연해지자 경찰은 실종 다음 날인 지난달 24일 공개 수사로 전환했다.

경찰·소방·군부대 등은 그동안 연인원 5700여 명과 구조견, 드론 등을 투입해 수색작업을 벌여왔다.
조 양을 찾기 위해 충북도교육청과 청주시, 보은군은 물론 아동심리 분석가와 정신과 전문의 등도 힘을 보탰다.
