인천 소래포구 한 식당에서 낙지를 먹던 70대 노인이 기도가 막혀 숨진 사실이 뒤늦게 알려졌다.

27일 인천 논현경찰서 등에 따르면 지난 23일 낮 12시 40분께 소래포구의 한 식당에서 A(71) 씨가 숨을 쉬지 않고 쓰러져 있는 것을 식당 직원이 발견해 119에 신고했다.
119구급대가 도착했을 당시 A 씨는 이미 숨진 상태였던 것으로 전해졌다. 사망원인은 기도 폐쇄 질식사로 추정됐다.
조사 결과 A 씨는 지인 2명과 소래포구 어시장에 방문해 술과 낙지, 도다리회를 주문하고 낙지를 먹는 과정에서 쓰러진 것으로 확인됐다.
경찰 관계자는 "폐쇄회로(CC)TV 확인 결과 범죄 혐의점이 없어 사건을 종결할 예정"이라고 밝혔다.
