28일 오전 5시경 부산 진구의 한 4층짜리 건물 내 3층 고시원에서 원인이 밝혀지지 않은 화재가 발생했다.

소방당국은 화재 발생 1시간 15분여 만에 진화했다. 이 불로 고시원 입주 남성 1명이 연기를 흡입해 인근 병원으로 이송됐고, 나머지 입주민 29명은 무사히 대피했다.

입주민 중 한 명은 경찰 조사에서 "밖에서 타는 냄새가 나 대피하면서 119에 신고했다"고 진술한 것으로 알려졌다.

경찰과 소방당국은 입주민과 목격자를 상대로 정확한 화재 원인과 피해 규모를 조사하고 있는 가운데 고시원 천장에서 최초 발화한 것으로 파악하고 있다.
