일본 북부 홋카이도 삿포로 시내 한 술집에서 원인을 알 수 없는 대형 폭발사고가 일어나 42명이 부상당했다.

일본 경찰은 17일 전날 밤 8시 30분께 삿포로시 도요히라구 히라기시에 있는 한 주점에서 폭발이 일어났다고 밝혔다.

 

NHK 방송은 현지 경찰을 인용해 "폭발로 발생한 화재가 주변 건물까지 번졌다"며 "술집에 있는 사람을 포함해 42명이 다쳤다"고 보도했다.

화재는 5시간 반 만에 진압됐다. 하지만 2층짜리 술집 건물은 불길에 휩싸여 일부가 내려앉았다.

현지 경찰은 "목격자들이 현장에서 가스 냄새가 났다는 진술하에 조사 중"이라고 NHK에 말했다.

 

사고 장소는 삿포로 중심가에서 동남쪽으로 3km 정도 떨어진 곳으로 주택과 음식점이 즐비하게 있어 인파로 붐비는 지역이다.

삿포로시 당국은 임시 피난소를 설치하고 주민들을 소개하고 있다.
