왕진진이 팝아티스트 낸시랭의 인터뷰가 "허위사실 유포"라고 주장했다. 

왕진진은 지난 23일 한 매체와의 전화 통화에서 "낸시랭이 한 매체와 인터뷰에서 공개한 문자 내용은 악용된 부분이 많다"라고 말문을 열었다.

이어 "시골에 계신 날 키워주신 어머니와 가족들이 모두 어처구니 없어하고 있다. 문제의 여파가 전남 장흥에 계신 키워주신 어머니와 자식들에게까지 확대 전파돼 마음이 더 괴롭다"라고 하소연했다.

그러면서 "법무팀을 꾸려 지금 법적대응을 하려고 준비하고 있다"고 덧붙였다.

또 왕진진은 마카오에서 출생했고 호적부상 바로 출생신고를 하지 못해 한국에서 하게 됐다는 것이 '사실'이라고 거듭 강조했다.
