실손의료보험 청구 절차를 간소화하는 내용을 담은 '보험업법 개정안'이 15일 국회 정무위원회 전체회의에서 의결됐다. 입법에 '청신호'가 켜졌다.

개정안은 향후 법제사법위원회를 거쳐 본회의에 상정될 예정이다. 개정안이 시행되면 소비자는 복잡한 절차 없이 병원에 요청하는 것만으로 실손보험금 청구를 마칠 수 있다.

실손보험 청구 간소화는 병·의원에서 직접 중계기관에 전산화된 관련 파일을 전달하는 방식을 말한다. 이 법이 시행될 경우 보험계약자나 피보험자는 종이 서류를 챙겨 사진을 찍어 앱을 통해 전송하거나, 팩스를 이용해 보험사에 보내야 하는 불편을 덜 수 있다.
