현직 경찰관이 불법 게임장으로부터 뇌물을 수수한 혐의로 검찰 수사를 받게 됐다.

인천지검 강력부(이계한 부장검사)는 지난 1일 인천지방경찰청 광역풍속수사팀과 인천 서부경찰서 모 지구대를 압수 수색을 했다고 2일 밝혔다.
수사 선상에 오른 경찰은 현재 서부경찰서 모 지구대에서 근무 중인 A(38) 경사다. 검찰은 그가 인천경찰청 광역풍속수사팀에서 근무하던 지난해부터 올 초까지 불법 게임장을 단속·수사하는 과정에서 뇌물을 수수한 것으로 보고 있다.
검찰은 A 경사의 자택에 수사관들을 보내 수사 관련 자료 등을 확보했고, 그와 게임장 업주 사이의 수상한 자금 흐름도 포착한 것으로 전해졌다.
향후 검찰은 압수한 A 경사의 휴대전화를 분석해 통화 내역 및 문자메시지 등을 분석할 방침이다.
한편 검찰은 A 경사의 체포 영장이 기각됨에 따라 그의 신병을 확보하지 못했다. 검찰은 조만간 그를 피의자 신분으로 소환해 조사한 뒤 구속영장 청구 여부를 결정할 예정이다.
